**Check the library's website for hours of operation.**
Originally named the Saxonville Library, the McAuliffe Branch Library opened in the mill section of Framingham known as Saxonville, March 19, 1963. With an original size of 4,376 square feet, the Saxonville library held just 16,000 books. The library was expanded in 1986, and now houses over 70,000 books, videos, audiobooks and compact discs. It's crowded- and busy! In 2000, McAuliffe was the busiest branch library in the Commonwealth.
As you enter the vestibule, stop to admire the plaque. Here you will learn about the library's namesake, Christa Corrigan McAuliffe. The Saxonville Library became the McAuliffe Branch Library in May of 1987, to honor her memory.
