Saluting Tiger Cub Letterbox- Haddam Meadows, Haddam, CT
Directions: Find your way to Haddam Meadows State Park in Haddam on route 154. Drive in and bear right. Park at the boat launch. 45 minute hike, 1 mile
Hidden by Cub Scout Den 7. Enjoy
Take the mowed trail in the opposite direction of the boat launch through the yellow gate. Follow this trail along the marsh until you come to train tracks. Travel south bound. Pass a white “W” marker along the way. Take a left onto the dirt road back down towards the river. The path will curve and head back north in the direction you came. The river will now be on your right. Traveling against the current you will pass marker “53”. Follow the path through another yellow gate. Enjoy your walk along the stream. Pass over the fish dam and look straight down the path towards the river. There, before the path curves will be an old tree giving the boy scout salute. Inside the tree hidden well above your feet lays the tiger.
Continue on the path will bring you home.
