This stamp was originally carved several years ago for an event held at Walden Nature Preserve on Hagen Road in Salem, CT. Only a few people came to the event so it is possible that some letterboxers may already have this image.

Once you’ve arrived, please study the map board. Your journey will take you to the Knife Edge Trail which is the Orange Trail. Begin on the main Red Trail into the Preserve and you will eventually see the Orange Trail on your right which goes down the hill and over the bridge. My box is located on that trail, but at the other end where the Orange Trail eventually connects back to the Red Trail. So you have a choice. You may follow the Orange to the end and then read the clues to find the box OR you can continue past the Orange Trail and stay on the Red Trail. Eventually the Red Trail will go past some cement foundations. Keep going until you see the Orange Trail connecting back to Red on your right. From here go right on the Orange Trail and count about 34 paces. The left embankment will start to rise uphill and you will see a tree on the rise. It is growing parallel to the ground for a few feet and then continues towards the sky. Look at its base.

It was a gorgeous day and I was blessed to have wonderful friends and their family to accompany me while planting. Special thanks to Jared for helping me fine a great spot for the letterbox.
