I-95 N toward NEW LONDON
Exit 54 - CEDAR STREET

Turn right onto CEDAR STREET
Cross over ROUTE ONE
Turn right onto MAIN STREET

Left onto KIRKHAM STREET (Road changes name to MAPLE STREET after RR tracks)
Continue past DUTCH WHARF MARINA on left to stop sign.
Take left on HARBOR STREET (This is a National Register Historic District - historic structures--nice. Many beautiful old houses, some date from the 1700s.)

Continue over Mill Creek
Continue to PARKER MEMORIAL PARK.
Take right into park between stone columns.

Continue past main parking lot on right, bathhouse on left, bocce court on right -
Veer right past light pole with big cement block to small parking lot in front of beach.
(If you've come to houses you have gone too far).

This is a pretty spot, views of the water, rock formations and stupidly huge houses, the walk is pretty with trees, ferns, and carpets of soft green moss.

TO THE LETTER BOX:

At sandy parking lot~
If you're not already walking, it's time.
On the left side of the sandy beach,
the trail starts at the fallen tree.

After the fallen tree, walk about 20 paces and take right trail over moss, ferns, and stone.
Following trails that keep to the right, continue past Hammer and Sickle, past Graffiti Lookout.

About 30 paces, follow path toward house, between boulders. Find a small broken tree stump at your feet, look up, about 4 feet away are 2 small twisted trees. Behind the tree to the right, under rock and leaves you will find a PNW fox.

NOTES:
This is a short and easy 5 minute stroll with an increase in elevation of about 15 feet.

Will be difficult in any snow over 4 inches.

In summer you need to be a Branford resident to enter the park by car, but you can park elsewhere and walk in.

No dogs allowed in park during the summer. Must be on leashes during the winter.

In the summer the bathrooms are open.
