This is a great family hike (ages 5+)

From the junction of Rt 2 and Cole Ave in Williamstown, MA go over the Hoosic River and take a left at the "T" with North Hoosic St. Take your first right onto Chestnut St. Drive up Chestnut St. hill until the road bends to the left. Park, and Chestnut Trail will be on your right.

Follow the Blue markers of Chestnut Trail for about a quarter-mile. At the four-corners take a right staying on Chestnut Trail (there will be another blue marker.) You will come to a "T" at the Class of 98' Trail. Take a left.

75 adult paces or 95 kid paces from the 98' Trail junction, a big log will cross your path. 150 adult paces and 200 kid paces from the log, look for a tree with a Blue trail marker that has three hashes on it. Directly to the right, you will see a triangular cave. Go to the triangular cave by passing between two large blocky boulders and around a knife-blade rock. From the triangular cave follow the fern shelf up and to the right for about 12 yards. The Bear Cave will be on your left, underneath a huge boulder. Duck under the boulder and into the Bear Cave and you will see a few petroglyphs. Directly above the petroglyphs, you will find a Glen Fiddich box on the stone shelf.

Good luck and happy Letterboxing!
