Nestled between downtown Attleboro and Mass Audubon's Oak Knoll Wildlife Sanctuary, and just behind the National Shrine of our Lady of La Salette, lies Mass Audubon’s Attleboro Springs Wildlife Sanctuary at La Salette. This extraordinary 117-acre property, owned by La Salette Shrine, was permanently protected with the help of the City of Attleboro, Attleboro Land Trust, National Shrine of our Lady of La Salette, and Mass Audubon.

The entrance to the trails is located behind the LaSalette Shrine. Follow road between the two main parking lots to the end with the pond to your right.

Enter the main trail and take the Meadow trail to the left.

Once on the Meadow Trail, you will arrive at a field (Meadow). Walk along the left side of the field with the meadow to your right. Follow the grassy path to the corner of the field and enter the blue trail on the left.

Once on the path in the heart of the woods, you will walk under a slanted tree while a stone wall will be on your left and a small pond on your right.

Continue on the path until you see the sign for Esker Loop. Take a left and continue following the blue trail markers.

Up a small hill and then down the other side you will start to see lots of pine trees. At the bottom the hill, be careful, it gets a little swampy. Be sure to stay dry and avert the puddles. Once you get this you are walking back up a hill until you arrive at a fork in the path.

Take a right, this will lead you down a hill, still on the blue trail. Follow until you arrive at another cross trail. Continue straight across and down a slight hill. This trail will now bend to the left with a stone wall to your right.

You will arrive at a gigantic Double Pine Tree, Two trees that grew together with a yellow trail marker. Facing the yellow marker, turn left and walk up the hill(off the trail) about 10-15 paces. Standing infront of two trees slanted in opposite directions, turn left and walk in the direction of 11 O'clock through the pine trees about another 10 paces until you are in an opening. You will see a tiny pine tree, about 4 feet high, your letterbox will be at the base of the tree!!
