This cemetery location is on Upper Moodus Reservoir. In a beautiful setting for a sunrise or full moon. Aug 15 1891 a horse named "Scout" was buried at this location.
Travel North on East Haddam Colchester Turnpike. Take a rt before the causeway onto Beecher Rd. Take 1st left onto Oak Rd. Enter the cemetery (Bashan Cemetery) which has no sign.
Find Judah Lewis's name tombstone on upper left corner in which you will find the letter box.
Travel South on East Haddamm Colchester Turnpike. Go over causeway on Moodus Reservior. Take left on Beecher (sign is not 2-sided). Take left on Oak. Enter cemetery (Bashan Cemetery) which has no sign.
Find Judah Lewis's tombstone on upper left corner and you will find the letter box.
Please enjoy the views, family names and go fishing if the weather is appropriate. There is a nice path behind the Lewis tombstone that leads you down to the lake.
