~ This is a series of 4 boxes .These are the names of the boxes …. BOX 1- “Gilligan’s Lost ornament”, BOX2- “swamp thing’s lost ornament”, BOX3-”The Mohegan’s lost ornament”, and BOX4-”Devil’s lost ornament”.

~~Your Journey begins at Poquetanuck Cove Preserve on Avery Hill Road in Ledyard 0.85 miles from RT 2A. The Parking area is on the left side of road it will have a sign in the parking lot. This trail is very beautiful and a bit rugged but well worth the view.

~~~Proceed to the trail at the end of the parking lot. If you know this trail well make your way to the large pond’s edge in a northerly direction, If you don’t follow along….. This is the white trail it has a lot of splits (2 white dots on a tree) , try to stay on the main trail its more visible. Walking on the trail you will be coming up on a small stream try not to get your feet wet…going up a small incline after stream go through a stone wall….1st split stay left, 2nd split go straight/right… pass through another stone wall…. 3rd split go straight and go over the fallen tree… 4th split go right 5th split comes up real quick go straight. You will soon hear/see the small waterfall on your right while you continue going down the hill… cross over another stone wall at the bottom of the hill. You should see the large pond’s edge towards your right head that way on the trail.
~~~~At the edge of the large pond continue on the trail going uphill so pond is on your right side… the trail starts to get real narrow you will need to walk single file. You’ll see that beautiful view on your right that overlooks the pond….. The trail splits where you can go left to the letterbox or straight to get a glimpse of Gilligan’s Island. Take the left going up another incline … keep your eyes open for the first white dot on tree on the right side of path… at this tree count 53 normal steps on the path … you will see a rotted tree either in front of you or to your right depending on you steps… Behind this rotted tree you will find Gilligan’s lost ornament. Hope you enjoyed your journey!!!:) Please make sure you rehide very good so it doesn’t get washed away. Thank you!!!:) You can continue on the trail or turn back around.
