Every winter many Texas anglers eagerly anticipate the annual rainbow trout stockings offered by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department across the state. Rainbow trout are produced and delivered from out of state to hatcheries where they are prepared for their final destination in Texas waters and delivered by TPWD personnel. Rainbow trout are not only fun to catch but great to eat, and since they can't live in the heat of Texas waters after winter people are encouraged to do just that. A schedule of stocking dates and places can be found on the TPWD website, but one of them is American Legion Park in Missouri City, where hopefully this box will serve as a lure for you.
From Hwy 59 go east on Hwy 90 about 2 miles, then south on FM 1092 (Murphy) for about 1.5 miles. Turn right on Lexington for about 200 yards then left into American Legion Park.
Walk on gravel path across concrete culvert counter-clockwise around lake to far side. Bear right off trail to a fence surrounding a water tank and go right along it for 33 steps. Turn right and go 10 steps into woods to a double-trunk dead tree. Microbox is between them on back side under a rock and bark. Please be discreet and replace as described.
