This is a nice easy walk along Clear Brook Road in Burlington, CT. The road is not open to car traffic. To get to Clear Brook Road go to the blinking light at the intersection of Route 4 and Covey Road and turn north on Covey. In about a half mile turn right on Foote Road. Another half mile will bring you to a recreation area. Go straight across the intersection and you are now on Clear Brook Road. Shortly you will come to a Y go straight / right to stay on Clear Brook Rd. The road ends at a gate ahead of you and there is plenty of parking along here.
Go around the gate. Pass the first grassy road to the right. Pass the dirt road to the left. Shortly after this turn right on the next grassy road. The second table rock on your right is hiding the Snowflake under the far side.
Continue on down Clear Brook Road. Watch for Breezy Hill along the way. You will catch glimpses of Nepaug Reservoir through the trees and eventually you will be walking right along near the water with nice views. You can see both dams as you walk along. A large eagle flew just over the treetops to check us out. On another visit there was a porcupine crossing the road.
After a while you will reach a long straight flat section of road. Walk along here and shortly before it curves to the right watch for a very large heavily branched pine close to the road on the left. Standing on the road turn 90 degrees to face the tree. About 10 feet behind it is a nice rock to sit on. About the same distance beyond, in a straight line, there are 2 more boulders just before a group of trees. The Snowman is hiding behind the left-most boulder on the left side.
If you return to your car from here the round trip is about a 3.25 mile walk. You can have a shorter walk of about 2 miles by parking a second car at the east end gate.
