The HEAD UP letterbox is planted on the gracious grounds of the National Center for Afro-American Artists.
1. Start at the entrance to the hilly driveway that leads up the NCAAA.
2. Stroll up the driveway.
3. On the grass to your left you should be awed by the sight of John Wilson's sculpture: a huge head entitled Eternal Presence.
4. Approach the sculpture and stand directly in front of it.
5. Off to your left you should see a series of large boulders.
6. Head over to the first two boulders and you will notice that there is a decent sized separation between them.
7. Walk into the separation, and place your back against the flat fairly smooth side of the second boulder.
8. If you look to your left, your eyes should gaze upon a somewhat flat stone in the ground that seems to almost connect the two large boulders.
9. Be sure that you are standing to the right of that flat stone in the ground.
10. Now, squat down and you should see a pile of dried leaves at the base of the first boulder.
11. Push these leaves aside, and you will discover a small crevice at the base of the boulder.
12. The HEAD UP letterbox is tucked safely inside this cozy crevice.
