Smiling Tree Letterbox..out of service
Directions to warwick city park
From points north take Rte. 95 south to exit 10A. Go right off exit
and follow Rte. 117 East for 2.5 miles to Buttonwoods Ave.
Take a right onto buttonwoods ave at the stoplight between buttonwoods plaza and the citgo station. Follow buttonwoods avenue and take your 5th left.(asylum Rd.) follow Asylum road to where it turns sharply right. Here you will see a large green vertical sign.
This is the entrance to Warwick city park. From points south take Rte. 95 north to Exit 10 and follow Rte. 117 east for 2.1 miles.Take a right on buttonwoods ave and follow directions as above.

enter the park and pass over 2 yellow speed bumps. There is parking there on the left. After parking proceed into the park and follow the 2 lane bike trail just passed a fenced in maintenance area. The path is one way and is a 2.75 mile scenic loop. Walkers should stay left and bikers to the right.

As you follow the bike trail into the woods you will pass several benches and a few small hills. You will eventually come to a bench with a large sign a few feet passed it which reads "please curb your dog", You may want to look for our other letterbox here (see brushneck cove letterbox). Or continue on to the smiling tree letterbox.Proceed on and the track will cross an access road to the beach 2 times. After crossing the road look for a green pole with a .5 mark on it. Just after this you will come to a clearing with a grouping of 3 trees as the path turns left. Go right towards the access road where you should see a memorial on your right. Look across the road to your left and see a tree with a growth on it about 50 feet in the woods. About 45 paces behind the tree (slightly right)
you will see a large log with what looks like a sharks fin on the end.
Under the log is your treasure.
Rejoin the trail and follow it passed some ballfields as it loops back to the car lot.
