Our friend Shorty started a project to plant 100 boxes in Illinois depicting different ways for Barbie to die, so we decided to make a few contributions to his big project.
Location: Solve the Word Search puzzle to determine your starting position.

Terrain: Winding & hilly dirt trail through woodlands
Time/Distance: ~1 hour roundtrip, approximately 1.5-2 miles.
Barbie was thrilled to be competing in a figure skating competition with Ken. She rehearsed with him often, but sometimes she liked to practice by herself at both indoor and outdoor venues. You can help her prepare a routine here:

Unfortunately she didn’t realize how mild the winter had been this year. She therefore ran into trouble when she went out to practice her routine on a creek in the Peoria area. You might be able to rescue her (or recover her body) if you hurry!
When you reach your destination, park in the large lot on the right before the fence. The trail starts in the northeast corner of the field. Hurry down the trail, cross the funky bridge and turn right.
Barbie liked the color yellow, so follow that color to start. Take a right at a “Y”, then a left at the next “Y” (follow the dots!).
To get to the ice, she took a right at a “T”, then a right at 4-way to follow a true color. Stay right with this color and keep a sharp lookout on the right for a double dot. This is where she started practicing her glides since it was an open area and rather shallow. You should make a crossing here although there is no bridge to assist.
Continue following the trail with the creek on your left. Stay with your true color until you come to a top of a rise where you will spot a large reddish multi-trunk on the right. You can find an image of Barbie’s fate in the center of the trunks. Please rebury her so future visitors can pay their respects.
If you are adventurous and have a map, continue onward to loop around, keeping a close lookout for intersections! Unfortunately we were not so good at spotting the turnoffs and made a much LONGER loop than we intended. You may therefore want to just retrace your route to return to your vehicle.
