• From the Franklin Town Common, go down Lincoln Street for about one mile, halfway between downtown Franklin and the Medway line.
• Look for a neighborhood with a main street named Bridle Path. Turn into neighborhood down Bridle Path, and drive two blocks, past Steeplechase then past Phaeton Lane on left.
• Just past the white fence in front of a pond on conservation land you can park.
• Look for 4” high/4” square cement post right off the sidewalk (directly across road from fire hydrant). At the cement post, turn left and walk down a hill to get on the pine needle path.

• Follow the well-marked path, walking up a hill and around a bend, keeping the water to your left.
• After you round the bend, you will pass a large conifer tree with 2’ feet bark missing from its trunk.
• Keep walking on the path until you reach a Y-fork. Take the left path going down slightly.
• (Markers: you’ll see a fire hydrant up on your right, as well as a blue Colonial house. Keep them on your right.)
• Crest the hill and you’ll see a pond in the distance, down a hill.
• Spend some time at the pond, maybe even sitting and doing some meditation (here’s one we started inspired by our “secret pond”):

Breathe deeply and slowly five times.
Then say the following statements, pausing in between for a deep, slow breath.

I’m as calm as a pond. Breathe
I’m a little fish swimming through the reeds. Breathe
I’m a little turtle sunning on a rock. Breathe
I’m a little frog floating on my lily pad. Breathe
I’m a little duck paddling to the shore. Breathe
I’m a little toad hopping through the grass. Breathe
I’m a little bird flying overhead. Breathe
I’m as calm as a pond. Breathe

• Cross the little bridge and walk over the roots of two trees on the path.
• Walk about 20 paces and make a sharp left onto a path that forms a berm between two depressions.
• Halfway across the berm, before the path turns from needles to moss and stones, you’ll see a stand of trees.
• On the backside of one of the trees (right near the sharp slope into a depression), you will find our letterbox, hidden under a rock and some needles.

Bonus:
You’ll see nearby three trees together, one which is dead. The dead tree’s trunk forms a deep well about 2.5 feet high. Inside this deep trunk well is a geo-cache box! Sign your name/stamp there too. We found it by accident when choosing our own letterboxing site. Great minds think alike!
