*******NOTE**********
I have been informed by a couple of letterboxers now that La Jolla is missing. There appears to have been some damage to the box. Someone took the log and stamp leaving the cover sheet. I am working on a replacement so stay tuned.

Difficulty: easy with a few stairs and a short walk

This letterbox takes you to a beautiful, hidden little spot (La Jolla Underwater Park). It is an ecological reserve with cliffs, beaches, sea lions, pelicans, and more. I have been told it is a good snorkeling spot if you climb down to the bottom of the cliffs.

Clue: From I-5 exit on La Jolla Parkway West, follow the road as the name changes to Torrey Pines. Take a right on Prospect Place, immediately after that is a small cul-de-sac. Park there and take the trail down.

Go down the steps and the path until it comes to a "T." Follow on to the left. Just before you reach the observation deck, you will see two benches (one cement and the other wood). Behind those benches is a short path that runs along the fence for about ten feet. Just before the path ends at a larger bush, you will see a smaller one against the fence on the right and another across the path from it on the left. The La Jolla Letterbox is hidden under brush and needles behind the one on the left. Please enjoy and rehide well.
