The Farmington River Trail - this can be a drive-by or a walk of any length up to a marathon. The clues below are for the drive-by version
The Towns of Burlington, Canton, Farmington and Simsbury, are building a 16 mile, multi-use trail known as the Farmington River Trail. The trail will be located on former railroad bed, the shoulder of roads and other public land when necessary. The trail will serve walkers, runners, cyclists, in-line skaters and cross country skiers. For most of its length, the trail will consist of a ten foot wide, handicapped accessible, paved surface. When completed, the Farmington River Trail will connect with the Farmington Valley Greenway in both Farmington and Simsbury to form a 26 mile loop.
Find Joe Pizza on Rt 44. Pull into the lot and follow the signs for the DD drive-thru. At the side don't go left, go right. Go to the end and park on the left. From where the parking lot path meets the trail path look on the right. There's a skinny tree and then a fatter one with a red dot. To the left of it is a big rock. Look behind it under the usual letterboxer cover-up material.
