I mean the national tree of Scotland, the Scots Pine! It is native to the Scottish Highlands in the Caledonian Forest and in fact has become the most widely distributed conifer in the world. Should you want to read more about this important tree please go here:

To find this letterbox locate the famous Scottish Port-A-Potty of Nicasio Reservoir, cross over the land bridge and head to your left to find the osprey pole which looks much like a power pole with a platform at the top. From the osprey pole turn south and follow the island around keeping the water on your left. And when you reach the rocky outcrop the osprey pole is due north of you. Pass the first outcroppings you see and walk maybe nine or ten steps further south to a slightly larger rock. On its southwest side under some big rocks I hope you will find the National Tree of Nicasio Letterbox---I mean Scotland. Sorry, I keep getting mixed up.

Check for ticks and watch out for poison oak in all its seasonal incarnations. And please rehide this letterbox carefully so it looks natural in the setting.

Thanks for coming.
