This box is located at the most active geothermal area in the state of California. Find a sign overlooking the area.
Facing the sign, turn to the left about 100 degrees (not to 100 degrees) to see a stack of large boulders that is taller than the rest. Climb up between the boulders and continue to the left around the largest boulder to find a tiny clearing that is hidden from the sign. The box is under a small rock next to the large boulder.
