Near Tulelake, Captain Jack's ghost still hides in his Stronghold awaiting the soldiers that were coming to capture and execute him.
Take the inner loop trail to marker #7. Creep up the crevasse to the first plant on the left side that grows into the crevasse. Immediately after the plant, climb up to the left. At the top, Jack is hiding under the the woody roots of a bush, covered with a rock.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This is rattlesnake country. Exercise extreme caution! Always look before placing your hands and before stepping over anything!!!
Difficulty rating: 2 Average.
Terrain rating: 3.5 - The trail is through a lava bed. Wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for rough terrain. The final section requires a bit of scrambling over rocks.
