Cheadle Lake Trail
Letterbox clues begin at the boat ramp on the River Road entrance.
• Cross the bridge from the parking lot and read the information sign labeled “The History of Cheadle Lake”. Walk to the B.L.T. sign and turn left. Walk down the trail until you see the closed rusty foot bridge. Across from the foot bridge you should see a cement structure.
• Turn around and go back to the B.L.T. sign and continue past it. Walk south-east to the next information sign in front of the Dustin May Fishing Platform. Then go find a seat on the fishing platform.
• Continue going south-east. Read the information sign labeled “Aquatic”. Continue on the trail. Walk past the wooden hand rail and look for the four trunked tree (a tree with two stumps and four trunks).
• Continue down the trail and read the information sign labeled “Habitat” then turn right. Read the information sign labeled “Willamette Turtles”. Now walk a little further pass the cement structure and look around the first filbert tree.
• Keep following the trail and turn right on the path through the fir growth. Walk past both log benches then keep going. Go left at the first fork in the path and right at the next fork in the path. Look at the 3rd big tree to the right.
• Follow the path until you come to the main trail. Turn left and look for the 2nd red barked tree that's hugging the ponderosa pine.
