Terrain: rocky and steep in places
Time: depends on how much you want to explore
Hwy 13 between Mouth of the Brule and Port Wing find Orienta Lake Road south, about 5 miles west of Port Wing. Road is not far from Iron River bridge.

There once was a power dam at this spot. The construction may have been about 1921 or 1939 I found two articles with conflicting dates. Surrounded by the still visual striking red sandstone walls made for a 66-foot fall. A flood nearly toppled the dam on the night of September 1, 1985. With the changes in time the cost of the repairs not worth the expense the dam was removed to allow a more natural flow.
