Trail difficulty: moderately easy, a very rocky but fairly flat dirt trail with one major up & down
Walking time: about 15 minutes one way
Stamp hand-carved
Status: alive and well on November 10, 2015

From Show Low head southeast on State Highway 260 to Pinetop-Lakeside. Just after passing the Lakeside Campground (USFS) on the right (and the USFS Ranger Station across from it), turn left (north) on Porter Mountain Road. Drive for about 0.9 mile to the trailhead parking on the right for the Blue Ridge Cave Trail No. 608 (it is across the road from the Humane Society). Park there.

Walk east on the trail following the pole line and the private property fence on the right. The trail then drops down and crosses a small stream and a meadow. Cross the stream using the stones in the stream. Continue across the meadow and then start back into the forest. Go to the 2nd blue trail blaze on a tree. From that tree go at about 342 degrees (from mag. north) for about 25 steps to a multi-trunk Juniper Tree. The box is under the back side of the tree up against a small boulder under a flat rock covered with some twigs and plant debris.

Please be sure the contents are double ziplocked when you put them back in the box (i.e. the stamp is in a ziploc, the book is in a ziploc, and the two are in the larger ziploc bag) and put all of it inside the box. Please rehide the box well under the rock and covered with twigs and other plant debris so that it can not be seen from any direction.

Contact me if the box needs attention or is missing:
