The box is alive and well as of July 4, 2004

East Access -- take Colorado Highway 93 north from Golden 1.7 miles to west 56th Avenue. Turn left (west) on Pine Ridge Road and travel about 1 mile to the east parking lot.
West Access -- take Colorado Highway 93 north from Golden approximately 1 mile to Golden Gate Canyon Road. Travel west approximately 4.1 miles to Crawford Gulch Road (Highway 57). Follow the signs to White Ranch Park.

This letterbox can be accessed from several combinations of trails. A link to the park has been included http://www.co.jefferson.co.us/ext/dpt/comm_res/openspac/white.htm so you can plan your excursion according to your skill level or time. Using the park map measurements, we estimate the shortest hiking/biking distance to this letterbox is approximately 1.5 miles one way. There are lots of hills in this park so be prepared for some fun!

Clues
The Belcher and Mustang trails intersect in two places in this park. The clues begin at the eastern most intersection. From the sign marking the intersection of the Belcher and Mustang Trails, start walking on a heading of 155 degrees. After about .3 mile, you will have walked downhill to where the trail levels out and curves to the right. Not too far in the distance you should see an exceptionally orange, and very large Ponderosa Pine tree growing in front of a large rock outcrop. Near the base of this tree there are 2 pink rocks that are part of the trail. Stand on these rocks and look down the trail and to the left a bit. You should see a phallic rock outcrop. On the west side of this phallic rock there is a cute hidey-hole. Please replace the rocks on the box when you are finished. Thanks!

Box till you drop!
