Hazel Bazemore County Park is renowned for its hawk migration in September and October when tens of thousands of Broad-winged Hawks, Swainson’s Hawks and Mississippi Kites pass along the Nueces River and through the park. Birders from around the world travel here to witness the display and a Hawk Watch is conducted each year to count the hawks. You don't have to wait until the migration to find this box, but it would be a bonus attraction.

Directions:
From Hwy 77 go west on FM 624 about 1 mile, then right on CR 69 for 0.5 mile to Hazel Bazemore County Park. Bear right and go 0.2 mile then bear right again and park in small lot on right by Lucas Kimmel Memorial Trail.

Clues:
Walk on Nature Trail about 50 yards to a wood stairway. At top, bear right and go 25 steps to another wood stairway. At top, continue straight 85 steps to wood post where trail bends left. Go right up a gully 30 steps to top, then left 2 steps to small tree. Letterbox is at base under a rock and sticks. Please replace as described.
