Space Exploration Technologies (SpaceX) was founded in 2002 by Elon Musk to revolutionize space transportation through its Falcon launch vehicles and Dragon spacecraft. The company's prototype rocket, Falcon 1, was the first privately developed liquid-fueled rocket to reach orbit. The more powerful Falcon 9 rocket debuted with back-to-back successful flights in June and December of 2010. Looking to the future, SpaceX has announced its plans for Falcon Heavy, the most powerful rocket in the world, second only to the Apollo-era Saturn V. Though the design and manufacturing facilities are located in California, the propulsion and structural test facilities are located in Central Texas, and a future launch site may be built near Brownsville along the TX coast. This box is dedicated to the future home of the TX Falcon.
From Hwy 77, exit at Olmito and take FM 1732 west for 2 miles. Turn left at New Carmen Ave and go 2 miles to Resaca de la Palma SP on the left. Park in small lot on right before entrance gate.
Walk on sidewalk to its end at right side of gate. Letterbox is buried at base of a tree next to sidewalk under rocks. Please replace as described and be discreet. NOTE: I would have placed this box on a trail but the park was closing and I ran out of time.
