From the Visitor Center, walk down Meadow Road past the magnolias, lindens and cork trees.
When you get to the smoke trees, look across the road. Locate the Sakhalin cork tree on the right side of the road just beyond the large grassy area.
From the trunk of this tree walk slightly toward the left into the horsechestnut collection for about 70 paces.
You will reach the bottlebrush buckeye. The plant with the BIGGEST FOOTPRINT at the Arboretum.
Turn right and follow the meandering edge of this plant to the end.
Search for the letterbox on the ground under the large, palmately compond leaves. Follow the directions inside and leave everything just as you found it.
