300 years !!!!

This letterbox was planted as part of the GAQLBE2012.
I want to thank Scouttrekkie for the great carving. She took the time to research my town and found that Coventry was celebrating 300 years. She found the image and carved it. THANK YOU.
Find your way to Strong Porter House I 2382 South St in Coventry Ct. You can park on the Strong Porter property on the left hand side near rock wall. Walk across the street between the McKusick and Asher Wright markers that mark the entrance to the trail. (These markers might be blocked by grass and weeds). This is also the starting point for an old series “Women in the Revolutionary War”) Good news the boxes this series have been re-carved and will be replaced soon.
Walk down this trail until you come to your first right marked by a large tree on the right hand side of trail. Go right.
Take your next right. In a bit you will come to a 4 way intersection ..go left. Soon a stone wall will appear on the left hand side of the trail. (Another trail will intersect from the left [you can return this way after you have found the box]) go right and cross over the stream. There is a “Y” after you cross the stream, stay right. Follow this trail with the stream on your right. Soon the trail will turn away from the stream.
Your next landmark will be a triangle or island of grass/bush in the middle of the trail. It is an intersection of 3 trails. Go right. In approximately 300 + steps (if you don’t count, you will walk through an area of ferns, cross over a stream, go right at the “Y” and cross over a log over the trail {a jump for dirt bikes}. Look for a small ledge on the left side of the trail. Past this ledge is a tree on the left side of the trial with fallen parts of a tree laying perpendicular to the tree. The box is located on the top of the fallen tree in the “V”>.
Please cover well and return the way you came.
I want to thank Wolfy, Dulcimer Dame and PE Sneakers for braving the heat, Poison Ivy and ticks to help plant this box.

(There is a new 9 box series at Strong Porter, it is listed a one box but it is 9)
