This is a recycled postal from the Michael Jackson Memorial postal ring. Kelsung has inspired us to plant more boxes on this trail, so I decided to add the "toe stand" that has been lingering in my garage for a couple of years. Typically the Toe Stand comes right on the heels of the Moonwalk. It goes like this: moonwalk, moonwalk, moonwalk, pivot, pivot, pivot, dime-stop, hop on your tiptoes, and hold for five seconds.

To find this one drive east from the 605 freeway along Beverly Boulevard until it becomes Turnbull Canyon Road. It's about a quarter of a mile past the houses that give way to the canyon. You cannot park at the trailhead, instead park at the turnout on the north side of the road about 300 yards before the kiosk.

You'll pass a couple of overgrown trails on the left currently closed for restoration and instead follow this generally straight and level trail. After about .7 miles, just past the third "Keep Out" trail restoration signs, you'll come to a junction with the Sumac Trail. Take a right at that fork to continue on the Turnbull Canyon Trail. Either go up past the gnarled graffiti tree or go right around the lesser used switchback.

Continue up Turnbull Canyon Trail looking for another graffiti oak on the left side of the trail. Continue past it to a second graffiti oak on the left, then count 110 steps up to a small shrub on the right. (I dropped a rock I was going to use near the base of the bush.) The memorial is located under a large piece of bark at the base of the small shrub. (It is before the large oak off the right side of the trail.) If you get to two logs on the left (and a geocache) you've gone 30 paces too far!

Poison Oak is plentiful along this trail so be mindful of it! I would also recommend bringing water and a shade hat as the first part of the trail isn't very shady.
