Pink in the night, Sailor's Delight

Red in the morning, sailors, take warning.

This letterbox is on a beautiful view next to Southport Yacht Club. If you time your visit, you will see a beautiful pink sky over the harbor at sunset or sunrise.

From Boothbay Harbor, take Route 27 south to Southport.
After you cross the Southport bridge, stay on 27 and continue past the monument near the Southport General Store. Continue on Route 27, and take the second right onto Cozy Harbor Road.

Do not turn onto Pratt's Island Road, instead take right onto Cozy Harbor and continue to the Southport Yacht Club and Oliver's Restaurant. Park there and walk up behind the Yacht Club. Find the old Southport School bell. Go to the meadow/clearing above and behind the bell. Look toward the house and stand at the edge of the clearing. Line yourself up with the chimney of the house and look down on the edge of the low Juniper bushes. Hidden along the edge is a letterbox, hidden beneath a rock. Please rehide carefully as the meadow/clearing is a popular place for young sailors to eat lunch.
