The Ellen Bigelow building was built in 1912. In celebration of its 100th year, we planted this letterbox with acrostic poems and memories of our time here. This building has been home to many students, teachers, grade levels, and programs. Many happy memories and friends have been made. As the most recent program, Millers River Academy leaves, the students are excited to continue their academic progress in both the Athol-Royalston Middle and High School. Enjoy the poems the students wrote as well as the stamp they picked out to symbolize your journey to find our time capsule/letterbox!
To find the letterbox, park on Allen Street near the entrance to the Ellen Bigelow building. You will see the name of the school as well as 1912 written above the entrance. Walk up the first set of stairs towards the flag pole. At the top of the stairs, turn right. When you get onto the grass, turn right again so you are facing the street. Walk towards the plants in the corner of where the cement wall meets the stairs. Reach down, under the plant and look in the corner on the ground. There you will find our time capsule/letterbox! Read our poems, use the stamp, and don’t forget to write in our log book. Make sure to seal the contents back in the container and replant exactly where you found it.
