This box is dedicated to those that think Elvis Presley is still alive. Maybe he is. :)
When Elvis is reported to have passed away on August 16, 1977, his first final resting place was at Forest Hill Funeral Home Cemetery at 1661 Elvis Presley Blvd. He was later moved to Graceland, where he is visited and revered by Elvis fans, old and young, from all over the world. You can visit the huge 4 column mausoleum where he was originally placed, and go into the small chapel at the front of the mausoleum and then further into the mausoleum to see where he rested until he was moved to Graceland. The temporary final resting place has not been used since it was used by Elvis back in 1977 and as of the writing of these clues, you can buy Elvis' temporary final resting place for $100,000. This week is considered Elvis week, because it celebrates Elvis' life, during the week of his death.
The letterbox is located on the opposite side of the cemetery, as sneaking around Elvis' mausoleum would surely draw attention to letterboxers.
Enter Forest Hill Funeral Home Cemetery from Elvis Presley Blvd.
past the Exit Only sign on the left
past the Funeral Parking sign on the left
past 33A sign on the right
over the small white pillar bridge
left at white square mausoleum.
When you get to the intersection were you have 4 choices of direction to go, see the big huge stump on the right, and then turn right.
Go straight past Section 20
Keep right, keep right, past Section D
Stop at Section C.
On right is a huge tree among the graves.
Walk to the tree line behind the huge tree. You will know you are in the right place if you see the traffic road past the tree line.
Once at the tree line, turn right, and walk along the tree line until you reach 3 thick cut tree trunks, each about 5-8 feet long, laying on the ground.
The letterbox is inside the roots of the first tree, behind leaves, and a bit of cut wood.
