The Wetlands **RETIRED** LbNA # 6282 (ARCHIVED)

Anne Kolb Nature Center occupies 1500+ acres of coastal wetlands. Four trails over mangrove lined paths extend into the tidal waters of West Lake to various viewing areas. My favorite is the Mudflat trail. For a panoramic view, take the elevator or climb up to the top of the center's 68 foot observation tower.
Directions: From I-95, take Sheridan St.(exit 21) east, past US 1. The entrance to Anne Kolb Nature Center will be on your left before you reach the bridge over the intracoastal waterway. Proceed to parking area. No entrance fee.
To the box:
Begin at the Land Crab crossing sign you passed on the way into the park.
Follow the curved path to the boat dock.
Climb the hill on your right and face East. Look for the first Australian Pine tree on your left.
The box is located at the base of the tree. Hang out on the hill and enjoy the view.
****I urge you to cover this box completely with pine needles and bark so that no part of it is showing. This is an extremely busy area. There are some great entries to read in the logbook....this box has survived since 2003! Thanks to all you Letterboxers out there who have replaced baggies, pens and paper towels!****
