These letterboxes are located in Mounds State Park off SR 232 near Anderson, IN. For more information about the park and detailed directions refer to the following web page: http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/parks/mounds.html
Difficulty: 1 - Easy. In plain sight or can be found in a few minutes of searching.
Terrain: 1 - Suitable for small children. (Terrain is generally along marked trails, there are no steep elevation changes or heavy overgrowth. Less than a 2 mile round-trip hike required.)

Note: New log books were placed in both boxes on Aug. 20, 2006.
Clues:
Begin at the entrance to the Great Mound. From the small information sign explaining the significance of the mound, take a compass reading of 220º. Walk 27 paces (two steps per pace) to a large tree with a bump on its base. From the other side of this tree, continue walking towards 220º another 13 paces to a large stump. In the top of the stump, towards the back is a small hole. In this hole, you will find the Old Guy letterbox. (The stamp in this box was the very first carving made by Bionicle Boy, 10 year old member of The Weaver Family).
Return to the Great Mound and walk around it clockwise until you reach the Tree Trail. Continue on the Tree Trail until you find the #14 tree marker. From this post walk another 15 paces along the trail (towards the next lower number tree marker). At your right there are two trees close to the trail. Behind the larger of the trees, there are several fallen trees. In the large end of the largest tree you will find the Indian Summer letterbox.
