The Julian Wash Greenway is a 2.6 mile trail in Tucson, AZ and is part of a planned 55 mile trail around the Tucson area. It goes between Kolb Road on the west and Rita Road on the East and provides a 12 ft wide paved path and an 8 ft wide Natural Surface Foot Trail. For more information about the Julian Wash Greenway go to this site (there is also a link to a video here) http://tucsoncitizen.com/pima-county-news/2011/08/26/take-a-look-at-the-julian-wash-greenway/

To find the letterbox start at the Kolb Road entrance to the trail and walk along the Natural Surface Foot Trail (Red gravel path). After a short distance (about 200 yards) the trail will bend 90 degrees towards the east. Continue along the trail and go down the 7 “stairs”. After the last “stair”, take about 5 steps. On your left there is a dirt trail heading off towards the northwest. Go about 5 steps down the trail and then look directly west. About 20 feet away is a small Prickly Pear cactus. The letterbox is hidden under a SPOR on the north side of the cactus.

Be aware that you are in a desert and that there are creatures that bite and sting living here. Be respectful of their home and they’ll respect you.

Please rehide the box well and try not to leave any tell-tale signs that you were here.
