This 15-acre park consists predominately upland forest consists of Douglas fir and big leaf maple in the over story, and Indian plum, elderberry, sword fern, and salal in the under story.
Directions are from the mini-park trailhead on 173rd Ave. NE.
Clues – Moderately easy.
Trek – Less than ½ mile with several manageable hills.
Kids and Dogs - Dogs on a leash are allowed on the hiking trails. Good short walk for kids, but leave the stroller in the car. Park has a great playground for the kids, and has outdoor grills and picnic tables as well.
Clues:
On a fine hairst mornin', we decided to take a bit o' stroll in the park. As it was a might cold, we bundled up in jackets and tams. The weans played a bit in the playground, while we decided which path to follow into the shaw. Seems we needn't have worried, as land and sea both got us the same result.
Once into the shaw, we were faced with a wee bit of a choice, however. We decided on the low road, and continued on to the bench, where we sat for a wee drop to fortify us against the shivers. At the T (not tea!) in the path, we chose right, then 100 to lead us down a steep hill. We saw a tree shaped like a corkscrew and went over a brig before being faced with another choice. Frai the signpost, a gait of 15 at 210 degrees and we needed to rest. We leaned against a large tree grown out of a nurse stump on the left. And aye, we seemed to have left a tam inside of it!
This is a well-traveled trail (with plenty of teenage illicit activities in the wee hours), so please re-hide the box well hidden from view.
