We, like so many others, were spellbound by the 2012 Olympics in London. These gmes marked the first occasion in the history of the Games when all countries participating had women athletes in their teams. Women were the center of attention throughout much of the Olympics, both within and without Games venues, as they broke records, sparked drama, impressed with immense skill and poise and won medal after medal. Indeed, for many, London 2012 was truly "the women's Games." Our letterbox commemorates these games and these women.

In Jo Daviess county, the town of choice was obvious--not only a "woman town", but THE woman of England- Elizabeth!

Directions: US 20 (or Grant Memorial) goes through the middle of Elizabeth. Turn SOUTH on Myrtle(Named for a tree, but we think it is a woman's name-serendipity you know!). Travel past the depot, Hoskins Lumber and M&W Grain. Stop at the stop sign at the corner of Myrtle & Ash. A shiny new guard rail runs along Ash Stree. The box is hidden at the end of the guard rail nearest the intersection.
