A hiking map of Eliot Mountain Trail is recommended for this letterbox, along with hiking boots and plenty of water.
Find Asticou Gardens, you can park and hike up the terreces or drive up the drive way and park. At this point you can enjoy the Thuya Gardens and Lodge. When you are ready for your journey, continue to the right hand corner of the Garden and look for a door marked "Thru this gate to Eliot Mtn Trails." Follow the trail and after ascending gently, turn left onto the Eliot Mountain Trail. Take the trail about a half mile to the Charles William Eliot momument. Look to the right side of the placard for a spruce tree. Walk over and stand in front ot it. Your treasure lies between the spruce tree and you between two rocks. Please rehide well! You can either continue to hike the Eliot Mt. trail by following the cairns and your map, which is highly recomended or you can turn around and return to the garden. This is a beautiful trail and well worth the hike.
