Visit the Peaked Mountain website for directions and information. http://www.thetrustees.org/places-to-visit/pioneer-valley/peaked-mountain.html#t3

Please be conscious of other hikers noticing the box locations and re-hide them well! Enjoy the series! Make sure you bring your own ink pad. The first nine boxes only have stamps but the last box has the log book.

Box #1:
Park in the main parking lot (you'll know it's the main parking lot because it has a big trail map and wooden fence around the lot). Enter the trail through the main path. If you're looking towards the woods it is in the left corner. You will pass over a log in the path with twin rocks on either side. When you come to the next log on the ground there will be a tree with a red dot on it. Look slightly up the path to the right in the woods for the standing remains of a dead tree trunk (about twelve feet tall?). Walk around the back of the tree and you will find box number one in the dead wood!

Box #2:
Cross over two more logs. After the second log look to the right and see two twin trunks growing out of a tiny hill of moss. Stand behind the tree almost facing the path. Look at the bottom of the trunk on the right hand side. Near the last root on the right there is a moss tunnel where a root is growing out. Search inside this tunnel for the second box!

Box #3:
Cross over two more logs in the road. After the second log keep walking until you see a fallen birch tree on your left. Walk along the fallen birch until you reach its roots. Search the roots for box number three which should be concealed behind some birch bark.

Box #4:
Walk along the path until you get to the pond on the right. Take the path to the right of the pond. Just beyond the back of the pond look for a dead tree stump on the left between two thin trees. The fourth box is under a small rock between the stump and a moss covered rock.

Box #5:
Go back to the main path and head up the hill. Follow the green and orange arrows up the hill (do not take the path on the left!). After the map on the tree start counting the logs across the path. After the second log take ten steps and look into the woods on the left. There is a very tall tree with a semi hollow bottom that looks a little like a teepee. The box is hidden inside the bottom of the tree.

Box #6:
After the green arrow the path will get very rocky. Cross one more log and just before you cross the second log look behind the rock on the left for the next box which is hidden under some leaves. We placed a stick where teh box could be.

Box #7:
After the orange arrow in the path pass over one log. At the second log there is a pile of rocks on the left edge of it. Pick up the top rock that is slightly on top of the fallen branch and the seventh box is under that rock.

Box #8:
Walk until there is a fork in the path. Follow the green arrow that's posted on a tree with a number seven on it. Come to an orange arrow and go the opposite way- up the hill to the right. When you come to a fallen tree in the path walk along it to the right. SEarch in the hole at the roots for eighth box!

Box #9:
Follow the path until you see a tree with a red dot on it and a number nine. Follow the path to the left. Walk along until you see a tree on your right with a red dot and a rock leaned against the trunk. Look behind the rock in the crevice of the tree for the ninth box!

Box #10:
You're almost at the top! You will come across a mailbox. Slightly before the mailbox there is a path on the right. Shortly into the path there's an odd shaped rock jutting into the path. There's a flat rock to the left of it. Look behind a small rock leaned against the large flat rock for the last box!

Now enjoy the beautiful view from the top of the mountain!
