Find your way to Spaulding Pond Site # 2 on Mohegan Park Rd. This is the skating pond which is diagonally across from Mohegan Park Apartments, not the bigger swimming area. This path is not blazed, but is 4 feet wide and well traveled.
To find box #1
Heading to the right of the pond from the parking, go around the back of the pond and follow the grassy berm with woods on either side of you until you get to the first wooden bridge. Cross the bridge following that path, and be on the lookout for the rock formation with a "cave" that is soon on your left. When you get to the cave, go around the left side of the rock until you are standing on a stone wall with an old snapped tree stump above you. Look for a vine growing from a crack, and what you seek is at toe level behind rocks.

Head back out on the path and keep going passing many downed limbs and trees from the recent and passed storms. After a short walk, you will get to a second wooden foot bridge. When we were there a tree had fallen and was almost blocking the bridge, but we squeezed thru. Immediately after crossing the bridge take the path to the left. Follow until you get to a tree whose base touches the path as the path curves. You will know you have the right tree because it has a heart. From this tree take a heading of 60 degrees. Take 67 steps, sometimes over downed trees. You should be standing in front of a pile of large stones. Under the darker rock that's kind of in the middle you should find "wind" in the mini cave.
No ink in the boxes and 1 logbook in the 2nd box. When at the second box do some poking around in the other crevices, as there is a lonely thing there close by. Happy hunting and be sure to look for other clues as the park has a few others around.
