Little Women is a novel by Louisa May Alcott written and set in the Alcott family home in Concord in 1868-1869. It is loosely based on the author's childhood experiences with her three sisters and was an immediate commercial and critical success, inspiring many women to acquire new and more public identities. Alcott continued to write until her death in 1888 and was buried in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery where this box also resides.
