Our first attempt at hiding a letterbox ends in one of our favorite parks! The trail begins at the Franklin Memorial Swimming Pool in Franklin, IN. When driving through the pool parking lot, you will travel toward the north-west end of the parking lot and past the "diving well" of the pool. You will proceed down a small incline (road) and find a gravel parking lot on your left (this is BEFORE crossing any bridge!) If you cross a bridge over water, you have gone too far!
There is a gate at the entrance to the Franklin Park, so you will have to look during open park hours.
After parking your vehicle, begin on foot in a northerly direction to the Creekside Shelter and walk into the center of the shelter. Proceed out of the shelter on the east side, and you will immediately begin to climb a short but slightly steep hill paved with stone steps and a dirt trail.
Climb 27 stone steps (this continues on the closest path as you travel uphill) and then you will turn left (which is north) to walk beside a low stone wall. At the end of the wall, near a line of shrubs, lies a large piece of bark (really split wood) which hides our letterbox on the ground! The stamp you will find inside is the first initial of one of the "three boys"!
