SAFE
A fun little walk of about one mile in Lyme that will maybe put a smile on your face .
Find the BEEBE Preserve on Old Grassy Hill Road , it is small but loaded with stone walls and even a mysterious pile of rocks as well as a lovely new over look to enjoy the wet lands .
Pull off into the small parking lot and notice the two red trails. Take the red trail on the left . This is a loop walk and you will be walking clockwise so be sure you take the left trail .
A map is great to have and check it out on the Lyme Land Conservation Trust site .
As you come to the large mysterious pile of rocks , give a wonder why it was piled up so long ago . The stone walls in this preserve are very interesting . Keep a watch for the yellow trail .
When you come to the yellow trail on your left , take it down to the deck- like observation platform . As you pass through the stone wall here , turn left and go along the wall about seven steps to a Black Birch tree up against the wall . Right behind the tree , under two small flat stones is the letterbox . He is Safe now .
Please close the box up tight and cover well .
Go back to the Red Trail and continue up the hill . The last few stone wall are works of art and very inviting .
Continue on the Red Trail back to the parking lot .
We did this walk the day after Thanksgiving so were happy to see him SAFE and hope you had fun hunting him .
