Rt.8 N. to exit 25 Cross St. Right at end of ramp onto Cross and a quick right on Andrasco Road. Park at green gate or in commuter lot on Cross St.
Clues
This is the start of the Naugatuck Trail. Follow blue blazed Naugatuck Trail 1.2 miles of which the first 0.5 mile follows along Rt.8. Head uphill on an old road and stay on blue when it goes left off the road. Look for blue/red (Spruce Knoll Trail) on left and follow it 0.1 mile to its end. Look behind large pine tree on right and find an uprooted tree leaning on the pine. Butterfly is under trunk of uprooted tree at its base.
