Total length walk for both letterboxes is 3.3 miles. Walk is good for kids and dogs.

“Good to see you Agent P.”, said Major Monogram as Perry slid into view in front of the display screen. “I need you to go to McLean Game Refuge in Granby, CT to find out what Dr. Doofenshmirtz is up to. He’s been buying beaver treats in bulk. There’s not a single ear of corn to be found in the entire Bi-State Area.”

Agent P nodded and slipped down the exit tubes until he landed at the parking lot off of Barn Door Hills Rd.

::Doobie doobie do wop, doobie doobie do wop, Agent P!::

Phineas and Ferb are hanging out under the tree in their backyard. “It’s so hot today, Ferb”, says Phineas. “This kiddie pool that mom set up just isn’t doing anything to cool me down. And we could make a bigger splash in the bathtub!”.

“Well, the average temperature of a spring-fed pond is 42.6 degrees.”, said Ferb.

“If we could find a pond in the area, then we really cool off.” Phineas snapped his fingers, “Ferb, I know what we’re going to do today!”.

Isabella comes into the yard, “What’cha doin’?”

“Oh hey Isabella, we’re working on a way to cool off and we’re just building the world’s largest water slide, so we can make a huge splash when we hit the water.”, said Phineas.

“Oh, cool! Can I help?”, asked Isabella.

“Sure! You can go up with Ferb to the summit and get the slide started up top.” Isabella wasn’t really thrilled with that plan, but knew the way.

“We need to head over the bridge towards the cabin across the picnic grove. When I was here with the Fireside Girls, we had a picnic in that cabin. Then we headed up the trail to the right. We walked up the trail until we reached a Y intersection and went right. A short distance later, at another intersection, we found and followed the signs for the “Summit Trail”.”

“I know we’re headed the right way because I remember that rock wall off to the left. I think there’s a place to rest at the next intersection. We’ll keep following the trail up the hill to the summit.”

“Check out that tree, Ferb, the one with no bark on the left! Oh, wow, and there’s a rock cliff on the right! Boy, this trail gets steep! Hey, by the way, how are you going to get the slide to the top of this hill, anyway?”.

“The newest corn-based building materials are 45% lighter than petroleum-based materials.”, replied Ferb.

“Oh. Well, then come on, it’s not far! We’ll need to make a turn here, where the trail levels out. I remember this small group of cedar trees. We need to go up this small, unmarked trail at 320*, off to the right. We went up this hill towards the thickening pine trees, then we crossed over a small log that had fallen across the path. We took the path towards the right and through another fallen tree. We went almost all the way to the ridge line!”.

“Before we got there, we took a path to the right, heading towards a pine tree with many low broken branches at 355*. When we reached this tree, we took 7 steps, then one step down. We took 5 more steps, getting ever closer to the edge. We went to the right, along the ridge line, and passed this twin broken pine tree on our right. We went 9 paces and stopped at the pine with the skinny dead cedar tree leaning up against it.”

“If you check out the roots, Ferb, I bet you’ll find a great place to start construction!”.

As Isabella was chattering out the directions to Ferb, they didn’t hear Dr. Doofenshmirtz coming up behind them, huffing and puffing, all out of breath.

“Whew! Who would have thought it was such hard work to put my plan into action! Oouf! But this will be the perfect place to set up my “Beaver Appeal-inator”. Pretty soon, I will have eliminated all of the trees in the entire Bi-State Area!”.

Just then, Agent P swoops down on his hang glider, but he doesn’t see the net Doofenshmirtz set up to corral the beavers.

“Oh, Perry the Platypus, you are just in time! Your arrival is unexpected, by which, of course, I mean, COMPLETELY EXPECTED! I’m about to enable my top-secret “Beaver Appeal-inator”, which will draw all of the beavers to this hilltop, luring them with their favorite treat, corn! You see, when I was a boy in Drusselstein, my father would take me out for a hike in the woods, hunting for pieces of tupperware in the forest. Who does that?! Anyway, as I was walking around, I would trip over the tree roots lurking on the path. So, today, I will rid the Bi-State Area of all tree roots by attracting beavers to knock down the trees and clear the roots. This way, I will be able to take a walk without tripping.”

Agent P looked skeptical, but was too busy trying to get free of the net to do much about the plan.

Meanwhile, back in Danville...

“Candice, you are in charge of the boys. Your father and I are going bowling.”

Candice sighed, “OK Mom.”. She looked at Stacy, “We better go check on them now, and see what crazy scheme they’ve got planned for today.” Stacy and Candice get to the backyard, only to find a blueprint of a pond and a giant slide. And a half-eaten ear of corn on the cob. “Oh, they are SO BUSTED! Let’s go find them!”.

“Come on, Candice, do we really need to bust them now? I thought we were going to the movies.”, said Stacy.

“Yes, we MUST find them.”, insists Candice. There’s no way something that big could disappear before my parents get back from bowling. Let’s go to the pond!”

They walked for a while, and Stacy sighed, sitting down on a bench. “Check this out, a Fireside Girl patch!. I wonder how that got here. Hunh! OK, Candice, which way do we go?”.

“Ummm, I know there’s an intersection back here, let’s go see if we can find a sign for the Trout Pond. Oh! Here’s a sign!”. She reads, “Summit this way, Trout Pond that way!” Let’s go that way!” They head down the trail, following signs for the trout pond.

“Check out that huge tree down without any bark! Do beavers do that?!”, asked Candice.

“I don’t think so,” says Stacy, “but I think your brothers are up to something! Check this out, we have been following the “Werbitzkas Trail”. That sounds a lot like “Ferbitzkas”, doesn’t it?”.

“Let’s ignore these little trails to the left and right and keep heading towards the pond. We must be getting close, this trail is getting sandy”.

“And these trees are getting bigger! Check out this huge white pine tree on the left, right near the trail. That looks like the tree Phineas and Ferb built their treehouse in last summer.”

“Look, another sign for the Trout Pond, let’s go! Oh, they are SO BUSTED!”, said Candice.

A short walk later, Candice spots the pond and a small building. “Look Stacy, a cabin! Wouldn’t it be perfect for Jeremy and me to spend a weekend here this summer? Wait! Is that my brother?”.

“I’ll meet you down here by this picnic table”, says Stacy. “All this busting wears me out!”.

“What happened to this hill off to the left? It looks my brothers have worn away half the dirt! Come on, Stacy, we are so close! Let’s go see if we can find them!”.

“Check this tree out, Candice!”, says Stacy. “It has four trunks and barbed wire running through it. How weird!’

“Over here, Stacy! Climb over those two fallen trees ahead of you and check out the hollow of this fallen tree on the left. Phineas!!”

“Oh, you are SO BUSTED! Wait until I tell Mom and Dad!”

“Hey Candice! Have you tried our slide?”, asked Phineas.

“I do love a good waterslide. Maybe one ride.”, she replied.

After a few wild runs down the slide, with music, Phineas, Ferb, Candice, Stacy and Isabella are hanging out in the pond, cooling off.

“Stacy, let’s go, my parents should be back by now. There’s no way these guys are going to get rid of this slide. They are so busted!”

Candice and Stacy run into her parents in the driveway . “Mom! Dad! Come to the trout pond right away! You have to see what Phineas and Ferb are doing! They’ve built the world’s largest waterslide!”

“Candice, really? We just got home.”.

“Yes! Really! Hurry!”

Back at the pond, “Hey, where’s Perry?, asks Phineas. “I haven’t seen him all day!”.

Up on the ridge, Dr. Doofenshmirtz fires the “Beaver Appeal-inator” and a small army of beavers start to climb the hill. When they get to the top, their noses start to twitch and they realize the waterslide is made from their favorite treat, corn! Instead of taking down the trees, they begin to consume the waterslide.

Agent B, planted among the beavers, chews through Perry’s net, freeing him and enabling him to jump off the ridgeline. He uses his hang glider to gently float down towards the Pond.

Doofenshmirtz realizes his evil scheme is falling apart, as the beavers eat the slide and leave all of the trees just as they were. “Curse you, Perry the Platypus!”, shouts Dr. Doofenshmirtz, his voice echoing off the hills.

“Oh, there you are Perry,”, said Phineas, as Perry rounds the corner, looking like any other normal pet platypus.

Candice comes running down the trail, pulling on her mother’s arm, “See, it’s right over.... there. Oh.”.

“Oh Candice. Who would like pie?”.
