Elves' Treasure
(Easy; 20-30 minutes)
Dana Peak is located in Harker Heights, Texas. To get to the start point from I-35, take US 190 West and exit FM 2410 (Knight's Way) East, turn left off the exit. Continue East for 3.5 miles and turn right onto Commanche Gap. Continue down this road for about 2.5 miles until you come to a sharp bend where the road curves right. Park here before entering the gate to the park.
At the large path with the metal gate, go through the gate and walk up the hill on the large path. Continue on this path as it descends down hill, and look for a wooden marker with red tape. Take the path to the right for about 50 steps until you come to an "X" in the trail. Turn around, facing a large pile of dumped trees. Take aproximately 16 steps toward the living tree near the pile of tress. Look under a pile of rocks to find the Elves' Treasure.
