Terrain: Moderate (hilly, loose stones along trail)
Clues: Easy (no compass necessary)
Time: About 10-15 minutes to the box
Our directions begin at the parking area at Providence Road and Loch Raven Drive, just outside the Loch Raven Reservoir recreation area.
Your journey begins with white-blazed trail head to the N/NE from the parking area. Head up hill. You’ll notice a couple of trail options to the left, but stay to the right.
At the intersection to the main loop, stay to the right. Follow the white blazes to the bottom of the loop, where it levels off closest to the water.
Look for a large gnarl/knot on a tree on the right side of the trail. Find the tree with second white blaze from there.
With your back to that tree and the water, take 6.5 paces up hill. You’ll find the box under a flat rock at the base of the tree, on the trail side.
Please, as always, try to re-hide well, since it may be visible from the trail!
Continue ‘round the loop to finish the trail, or turn ‘round to go back.
