This is the fifth box in my series of Weeping Angels, and the last one unless others are found in Texas. These are the only ones I know of. This one is in Calvary Cemetery just north of Denison. When we first saw it a couple of years ago, the outstretched hand was intact, but sometime in the spring of 2011, it was broken off, no one knows how. The angel is still beautiful and well worth seeing. It marks the Patore family plot and probably dates from the earliest graves just after the beginning of the 20th century. I love these Weeping Angels. If you know of others, please let me know. Each deserves a letterbox.

Directions: From Denison, Texas, take U. S. Highway 69 (also known as N. Austin Ave. and N. Eisenhower Parkway) north. Pass FM 120 and look for Munson Park on the left and across the highway from it, to your right, you will see Calvary Cemetery. Drive in under the arched gate and immediately park on your left. Calvary’s Angel will be directly in front of you.

To the box: After admiring the Angel, walk north on the sidewalk next to it. At the fence line at the end of the sidewalk is a large gray deciduaous tree with a heavy 5 ft. high square post next to it. The box is between the post and the tree on the ground covered with rocks. Be very Cautious! The tree, post and box are just on the other side of a barbed wire fence which marks the boundary of the cemetery. You can reach through or under the strand of barbed wire, but be careful of the barbs.
