Merry Christmas from The Domedreamers! It’s the most wonderful time of the year, time for the our Christmas Card letterboxes. Continuing our tradition, we have hidden a letterbox with the stamp we used to make our Christmas cards this year. The boxes will be available only from Christmas Eve through Epiphany (please do not contact us in July and tell us that it is missing).

If you have done our Christmas card boxes in other years, this is a much shorter walk, basically a drive up, even though it’s two boxes. However, if you want a bit more of a walk, you can wander the trails a bit after you find the boxes.

As usual, it’s a pretty big design, with stamp number one the big one; you should leave room to stamp the second stamp above the first to get the picture just so. There is ink in the boxes, but unfortunately the second box has a pigment ink pad - we just could not find a good yellow ink pad anywhere! So, if you have a yellow stamp marker or ink pad, you may prefer to use your own.

Once again this year you will have to go to Globe Hollow (bringing to mind my Christmas wish for peace on earth - still waiting on that) in Manchester; it is on Spring Street (which brings to mind my wish that it was warmer right now!), which is off of South Main Street, a hop, skip and jump from Rt. 384.

You can park anywhere in the lot, but the hunt for boxes starts on the path to the left of (as facing) the pool area - go to the corner of the fence and you will find a path - there used to be a gate, but now there are only gate posts. Take that path, but keep an eye on the trees on the other side of the fence (inside the pool area). When you get almost to the two sister tree, leave the path and go up the hill to your left. At the top there is an old, falling apart, tall tree stump (where one of our previous Christmas boxes was hidden), and past that, a bit to the left, is another, newer stump, about 8 feet tall, with the rest of the fallen tree resting behind it. Where the fallen tree meets up with the stump is where you’ll find the first box.

Return down the hill to the path and continue walking until you come to the corner of the fence. Turn right off the path to follow the fence. There is a big, chopped up tree there, and if you follow along that tree with your eyes, it meets with another fallen tree (rough couple of years for trees), not quite as chopped up. Again follow it to where the fallen log meets up with the stump and find box number two.

From there if you want a bit more time in the woods, go back to the path and follow the trails for a while. If you’ve done our other Christmas card boxes you may be familiar with the place. You may run into The Domedreamers if you go to do the box on Christmas day, as we will be accompanying family who are going to search for the boxes that day.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD HIKE!!!!
