This box is in honor of the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School. A stamp and marker are included in the box, but no logbook. Instead, please take a moment to honor the victims and this community. As you drive away, please leave behind your prayers and thoughts of hope, peace, comfort, and love.
Directions
If coming from rte 25: take a left or right, depending on what direction you are coming from, at the flagpole, onto Church Hill Rd. Continue straight until the 4 corner intersection in Sandy Hook center. Take a left onto Glen Rd. If coming from the direction of I-84 or Toddy Hill Rd. or Rte 34, the way is straight all the way to Sandy Hook center, and straight through traffic light onto Glen Rd. Once on Glen Rd, pass the first parking lot on your left, as well as “The Country Mill”. You will immediately see a row of mailboxes and a turn in for another parking lot on your left. Turn into this parking lot.
Clues
Once in the lot, drive down (but not as far down as the walkway by the stream) and to the right, parking in front of a “grouping” of about 10 or so trees. While looking at this group of trees, you will notice what looks like a slab of concrete leaning against some of the trees. Nestled in the trees in front of this slab, under a few rocks and leaves, is the Prayer Box. Please re-hide well.
