While hockey fans anxiously, and some angrily, awaited an end to the NHL lockout, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers played some awesome hockey. The Sound Tigers are an affiliate of the NHL’s New York Islanders, wearing the same team colors, blue, orange and white. Joining the AHL in 2001, they, and their popular, kid-friendly mascot Storm, play their home games at the (newly named) Webster Bank Arena. The Sound Tigers hold their practices at The Rinks (Sports Center of Connecticut) in Shelton. The public is invited to attend their practices at The Rinks, free of charge.
Directions
The Rinks, part of Sports Center of Connecticut, is located at 784 River Rd (Rte. 110) in Shelton
Clues
Once in the parking lot, you need to position yourself so you are facing a chain link fence and the ice rink is to your back. To the left of the chain link fence will be some rock ledge. Keep following the rock ledge over to your left until you spot a tree growing on top of a rock ledge. To the right of this tree is a “green plant” growing. To the right and down below this green plant will be a rock that looks like a little cave with s.p.o.r. at it’s entrance. This is where you will find the box. Since this is a high traffic area, please be very discreet while finding this box. And please re-hide it completely so it cannot be seen from the parking lot.
